Adult Day Program

If you are caring for a senior who needs support at home but isn’t quite ready for Long Term Care, Oakwood Terrace offers a program designed to help you. Situated in a bright cosy area within Oakwood Terrace is the Adult Day Program, a service where seniors can come and spend the day while their caregiver gets a break.

At the program participants take part in therapeutic leisure activities aimed at improving, and maintaining their current level of functioning. A variety of activities are offered such as, arm chair exercise, walking, sing- songs, cards, word games and more. Programs are conducted by staff trained in Therapeutic Recreation and dementia care.

Each day the participant recieves a nutritious, hot three course meal according to the menu designed by the staff dietician. Morning and afternoon snacks are also provided.

Time: The program is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fees: The rate for one day of service is $45.00. The fee includes noon meal and snacks.

Eligibility: The program is offered to dependant adults, 60 years of age or older, with some exceptions. Participants must be independently mobile and able to function within a group setting.
