Update - 11th February 2022

Oakwood remains in a COVID-19 outbreak situation as defined by NS Public Health. Overall case numbers have dropped significantly over the last couple of weeks. As of today, we have one active case amongst our resident population.

From Monday 14th February 2022 we will be making the following changes:

Two consistent DCG’s will be admitted per resident.

  • All DCG’s need to be fully vaccinated in order to visit Oakwood Terrace.

  • All Units are open to DCG visits.

  • All visits are restricted to the hours of 10am-3pm.

  • DCG visits are permitted during these times 7 days per week.

  • Last DCG admission will be 2pm.

  • All DCG’s are expected to leave the facility prior to 3pm.

  • All DCG’s will be issued PPE which they are expected to wear for the duration of their visit.

  • All DCG’s will need to take part the PCR testing program once per week.

  • DCG’s and residents will be able to visit in all common areas of the home e.g. Multi-Purpose Room, Front Lobby etc. This will apply to all units except C Unit.

  • DCG’s should not be visiting the facility if they are unwell and/or a close contract of known COVID-19 or if Public Health advice restricts movement.

If overall cases of COVID-19 in the local community continue to drop and COVID-19 cases within the home continue to improve we reduce restrictions further.
